A New Pet.

We have had several pets through the years, like a beautiful Collie when we lived on South Ivory in El Cajon, and then a white male poodle and later another white female Poodle. Then after we moved into our new home in Porterville, we had an adorable white Pomeranian for several years.

After moving into our mobile home here in Tulare, near Tony and Lucy's, we just felt like having another pet, so last week on Tuesday we decided to go to the animal shelter in Visalia and on the way there Al told me that he offered a prayer asking the Lord, "If there is a little Pomeranian, then we'll know it's for us".

We walked in the building and went to look at all the pets they had there. How pitiful to think that if no one takes them they will have to be put down. Well, to our surprise there was an adorable tri-colored Pomeranian that wouldn't take her eyes off of us, as if to say, "Please take me home with you".

When we asked about her, they told us she was a stray that they had found and they couldn't let anyone take her yet in case the owners would claim her, so we had to wait until Saturday. We got there at 9:00am on Saturday and no one had claimed her so we were able to take her home with us.

As soon as she came in the door, she ran in and out of every room so excited. She has been so loving and well behaved. Never barks and is always cuddling close to us. We got her a crate to sleep in at night and she stays quiet all night long. Al and I take her for little walks so that she can do her duties. She is a happy little Angel. Oh, by the way, that's what we named her and she really is one. We're so happy and blessed to have her here with us.

I have read several articles about how good it is for elderly people to take a pet in their home. It can bring them peace and happiness and can extend their lives. Well, I know for sure that they do fill your life with love and happiness.
